Cornwall's industrial past left its mark on some of the most dramatic clifftops in Britain — ruined engine houses, underground mines, and UNESCO-listed landscapes that tell a story most visitors walk straight past. This tour follows that story from the tin coast to the Lizard Peninsula, with Angie as your guide.

Multi-day Cornwall tours, guide-led from start to finish

Every Kernara tour is a multi-day journey through Cornwall, never a rushed day trip. Each runs across several days and nights, with handpicked hotels, a private local guide and a pace that leaves room to linger. Choose the route that speaks to you: From Coast to Castle for Tintagel and the north coast, The Hidden North for wild, lesser-walked shores, Tors to Shore from Bodmin Moor to the harbours of Fowey, or Legacy & Landscapes for Cornwall's mining heritage and dramatic coast. Prefer something entirely your own? Explore our private Cornwall tours.

What's included in your Cornwall vacation

A Kernara tour is a complete Cornwall vacation, arranged end to end. Your nights are spent in handpicked luxury hotels, the kind we would book for ourselves, and your days are led by a private guide who lives and breathes this coast. Transfers between locations, curated dining from harbour-side seafood to Michelin-recognised kitchens, and a carefully paced itinerary are all taken care of, so you simply arrive and walk. For where you'll rest each night, see our guide to the best hotels in Cornwall; for a taste of the table, Cornwall's luxury food and drink.

Getting to Cornwall, including from London

Cornwall is more reachable than it looks. Most of our international guests travel down from London, by first-class rail from London Paddington with Great Western Railway in around four and a half to five hours, or by private transfer with a stop at Stonehenge, and your guide is waiting when you arrive. For the easiest ways to make the journey, read travelling from London to Cornwall.

For travellers who want a walking holiday that combines real challenge with genuine comfort, a Kernara Cornish coast tour delivers both. You'll walk sections of the South West Coast Path, one of the most celebrated long-distance trails in England, staying in luxury hotels each night, with your luggage transferred ahead and dinner waiting when you arrive. It's a Cornwall walking holiday luxury experience: no compromises on the landscape, and none on the comfort. Prefer to travel with just your own party? Every itinerary can also be booked as a private Cornwall tour.

Beauty in its simplicity

Every Kernara tour follows the same simple rhythm:

  1. Six nights, three luxury hotels, two nights at each
  2. Five days of guided walking, Monday to Friday
  3. Three outstanding restaurant dinners included
  4. Every breakfast and lunch taken care of throughout

A Kernara tour is a luxury guided tour around Cornwall, which is curated and led by our local experts. Choose from walking tours along the coast path or chauffeured driving tours that cover the county from coast to coast, each one shaped by a guide who knows Cornwall inside out, with handpicked hotels, every meal arranged, and every detail taken care of.

No. Every Kernara tour is multi-day. Cornwall rewards time: several days and nights let you reach the quiet coves and moorland corners a day trip never touches, and settle into the rhythm of the coast. Browse the full collection of multi-day Cornwall tours above.

Yes. Our tours are designed for people who enjoy walking but aren't experienced trekkers. Distances are four to six miles per day on well-maintained paths, with a guide who sets the pace to suit the group. You should be comfortable on your feet for a few hours and able to handle an occasional steep coastal section.

A moderate level of fitness is plenty. Expect a few miles of coast path most days, with some ascents and uneven ground, but nothing technical, and always at an unhurried pace with a support vehicle never far away. Tell us your comfort level when you enquire and we'll match the route to you.

Never more than ten. Small groups are central to how we work: quieter tables, easier access to hidden places, and a guide who has time for everyone.

Not at all. Our groups are small — never more than ten — and many of our guests travel solo. The intimate group size and the time spent walking together means you'll feel comfortable from day one.

All our tours are six nights and five walking days. We don't currently offer shorter trips, but we can arrange for hotel stays before or after your Kernara tour, in Cornwall, London, or wherever you are.

Absolutely. Many of our guests build a Kernara tour into a longer trip around England. We're happy to help with recommendations for where to go next, and our team can assist with onward travel arrangements.
